Wheels: I've been sent info by
Mike Harley that gold wheels used on some 'Special Edition' are
painted in Phoenix Gold.
The original R100RS
was introduced in 1976 for the 1977 Model Year and was produced in Silver Blue Code 530. This 99% original
example belonging to Bob Wakeman has a genuine 18,000 miles (2004) on
the clock - note the painted and pin-striped wire wheels and the
polished alloy clock/voltmeter surrounds (only ever produced on this
model). As far as I can discover, only 5159 were produced for Europe
and 1263 for the US.

1978 R100RS MotorSport (original
paintwork). Police White/Rennesport Red (Code 133). Taken
from The BMW Club Journal, July 1978: Limited Edition R100RS - For
the record: During the second week of May, 50 dealers from Britain
were guests of BMW in Munich when the white R100RS's with rallysport
stripes and white panniers were launched. 150 of them will be sold
(and I think by now have been) in Britain at the cost of £3,300 each.

coincide with the racing 6-series JPS cars
JPS Colours (Australia only I think).
